Norwegian Gothic Doom Masters Evig Natt Reveal "Death" Single

Emerging from the mist-shrouded shores of Norway, EVIG NATT return with a chilling new lyric video, “Death”, the latest single from their eagerly awaited fourth studio album, Vaketimen, set for release on February 20, 2026, via Wormholedeath.

Inspired by the iconic figure of Death from Neil Gaiman’s The Sandman, the track portrays her as calm, inevitable, and neither good nor evil. EVIG NATT explore humanity’s fear of the unknown, crafting a restrained yet emotional composition that leans into atmosphere and weight rather than shock.

Fans of slow-burning gothic doom, orchestral arrangements, and expressive vocals will find much to savor in this release. The band balances crushing riffs with cinematic layers, creating a sound that is aggressive yet subtle, heavy yet elegant.

With Vaketimen, EVIG NATT continue to refine their signature style, standing at the crossroads of gothic doom, progressive metal, and black metal, drawing inspiration from the likes of Anathema, My Dying Bride, Swallow The Sun, and The Provenance. Members’ connections to Norwegian metal stalwarts Einherjer and Enslaved reinforce the band’s deep roots in Norway’s metal legacy.
