Powerlines Festival 2026

Saturday 18th July, saw us descend on Crookes Social Club for the second edition of Powerlines Festival, Sheffield's brilliant homegrown metal festival and what an absolute belter of a day it was!

Hail opened proceedings with their symphonic metal sound, weaving in themes of love, loss and relationships. An emotive way to start the day.

Emberwynde brought the folk 'n' power metal energy all the way from London. Think rousing, sing-along anthems in the vein of Alestorm and Korpiklaani. So much fun!

Soul Shredder flew the flag for Sheffield with their soprano-fronted melodic heavy metal, all mythology, battles and killer guitar solos, plus a wonderful cover of Within Temptation’s Paradise (What About Us?) with Mel from Aonia.

Heroes Of The Gauntlet were an absolute joy. Video-game-inspired symphonic power metal that was pure energy from start to finish.

Crown Solace stormed it with their modern symphonic sound, that jaw-dropping soprano/harsh vocal contrast hitting different. Just wow!!

Eld Varg were an absolute riff-machine. Scottish heavy metal steeped in Viking mythology, groove for days.

Pythia brought serious pedigree. London's symphonic/gothic metal veterans delivering soaring vocals and epic songwriting.

Fortress Under Siege kept the momentum going with their progressive power metal, all the way from Athens. A proper international touch on the bill!

Aonia closed out the day, and what a way to finish. Operatic progressive metal, dual soprano vocals and pure theatrical drama.

Huge shoutout to Powerdogs for keeping us all fueled with absolutely cracking hot dogs. Exactly what we needed.

Massive credit to Artful Witch Promotions for putting it all together too. The day ran like clockwork, smooth timings, brilliant sound, and such a lovely, welcoming vibe all day. You can really feel this festival growing. and we are here for it!
