Tales of Perdition Set to Release Debut Album The Theatre of Existence
London-based Symphonic Metallers Tales of Perdition are set to release their debut album, The Theatre of Existence, on Thursday 3 September 2026, following a year-long campaign of shows and single releases.
Formed in 2018, Tales of Perdition have remained fully independent, recording and producing the album in-house, with drummer Hugo White handling production. Through regular appearances on the Underground circuit and their involvement with the London Metal Coalition, the band have built a loyal and dedicated fanbase.
Drawing influence from Iron Maiden, Trivium and Nightwish, Tales of Perdition bring together a range of metal influences across The Theatre of Existence. Guitarist and founder Matt Simpson describes the band's sound as “like heavier Nightwish or poppier Epica”.
Speaking in a recent interview with Riffs and Gigs, Simpson says: “The album is a culmination of many years of us figuring out how to be a band.” Vocalist Alea Tripaldi adds: “It feels like it’s the storyline of how Tales of Perdition grew up.”
We absolutely love what Tales of Perdition have delivered with The Theatre of Existence. The songs are fantastic, bringing together symphonic grandeur, metal power and theatrical energy across nine tracks. It’s a confident debut that showcases the band’s distinctive blend of Symphonic Metal, NWOBHM and Thrash, and a release we’re genuinely excited to champion.
The Theatre of Existence was mixed, mastered and produced by Hugo White, with Felix White serving as session musician and production assistant. Photography is by Natalia Kasiarz, with album artwork by Rockhopper Studios.
